About Cycleai

Cycleai began with a small question: what makes a conversation with a written character worth returning to? The answer turned out to have very little to do with novelty and everything to do with consistency. A companion has to sound the same tomorrow as it did today, remember the thread of a story, and answer like someone who is actually listening.

Each character in the catalogue is written before a single line of chat is generated. She gets a home region, a set of favourite subjects, a rhythm of speech and a handful of habits. The portrait is produced afterwards to match the writing, in a restrained editorial style, so the picture supports the personality instead of replacing it.

What we are careful about

Everything on Cycleai is fiction. No character is based on a real person, and no portrait depicts anyone living or deceased. Conversations stay friendly and suggestive at the very most, because the appeal here is company and imagination rather than shock value.

The site is intended for adults. That is not a formality: a companion who can hold a long, personal conversation deserves an audience old enough to decide what to share and what to keep private.

How the catalogue grows

New companions are added slowly. A character joins the Cycleai cast only once she has a full profile, a distinct voice and a clear reason to exist alongside the others. That is why the list is short and why no two characters overlap.
